Get Ready for the "H2O" Show!
Time is flying by so now is the time to choose your favorite water images, get them printed and framed and ready to hang at our next BRPAS meeting at 6:30 on Wed., Sept. 6 at CJMW Gallery on Main St., across from Schewels. PLEASE NOTE THE MEETING LOCATION CHANGE!

I've had a few people email me about how to get their photographs "show ready." Most people will print their photographs 8x10 or larger. How large (or small) you choose to print is totally up to you as a photographer. There aren't any rules other than the theme for this show.

More important than size is probably how you frame. Framing is like putting on makeup- it can dress up a photograph. Typical gallery framing is a neutral mat (white, cream, black) and a simple frame (black seems to be the standard.) The reasoning is that simple and unobtrusive frames allow the photograph's beauty to take center stage and not compete with the framing.
Another plus to this type of framing is that when you have 20+ photographers displaying their work, having the frames "blend" together harmoniously helps the show flow well.

The hanging system at CJMW works with wire hangers...NOT sawtooth hangers. So if your frames don't have wire hangers, you need to pound one in.

You can also bring up to 3 photographs. It depends on space as to how many we can fit on the walls- so sometimes we need to edit. There is a show fee of $10 per photographer to cover costs of our opening, which will be Friday, August 8th from 7-8:30. VOLUNTEERS are needed for the opening set up and clean up....please let me know if you can help!
